As a regular visitor to IKU cafes in Sydney I know they take great care to prepare healthy and nutritious meals. The same care and passion goes into IKU ready meals which makes them a reasonable alternative when I can't find time to cook.

Garden of Vegan tend to avoid highly processed meat substitutes. Avoiding meat substitutes is one thing I look for in ready meals as they are often already high in sodium and other additives. They also use organic ingredients which is another positive for me.

With their focus on meat-substitutes Plantry is not something I'll have every day. But this is an option on the occasion that I do want to get a bit more texture in my meal without worrying about the ethics of meat.

If I'm just wanting some comfort food then South Yarra Deli is somewhere I know I can get something without worrying about the food miles. They are local producers and I know they can reach my kitchen without adding a huge carbon footprint.
